Michelle Bloom, L.C.S.W-R

I believe in a holistic and mindful approach when working with my clients. I strive to understand and incorporate both the unique relationship between our mind and body, as well as our relationships with others, and the world around us.

Our offerings center around the ability to hold space and time for those who find themsevles in a place of transition.  When my clients are called to a threshhold of an initiation of self, we look at it together, and hold a body of work. Our hope is to integrate this body of work into a place where we can live deeply into ourselves, deeply into our relationships with others, and deeply into the world around us.

I am influenced by the ideas and theories surrounding early attachment patterns, Jungian developmental psychology, and the teachings and rituals of indigenous cultures that have honored and marked transition intiations for centuries. I passionately bring these ideas and philosophies into my work with individuals, couples, and families.

I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work and went on to complete postgraduate analytic training at the American Institute for Psychoanalysis. My  experience includes training in Attachment-based Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Maternal and Family Work, and Grief Tending and Processing. I opened BloomTherapy in 2013 with the hopes of empowering individuals to create their own communities, villages, and circles of support that can hold them throughout a lifetime.
